Occupational therapy as a profession

Occupational Therapy is a social healthcare discipline that considers work as a way to promote personal health and well-being. The key goal of Ocupacional Therapy is that people may take part in their professional activities on a daily basis.

We understand “work” to be those daily activities that give people an aim, meaning and satisfaction in life.

From a holistic perspective, Occupational Therapists work with individuals and groups of all ages who are affected by a health problem that interferes with their engagement and participation in all of their daily activities.

The role of an Occupational Therapist is to evaluate the job at hand and a patient’s occupational performance. Using preventative and or therapeutic means to promote health, an Occupational Therapist should prevent injuries or disabilities, as well as develop, improve, maintain or restore personal and functional independence.

Future is in your hands!
