The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) is a widely recognized, person-centered assessment tool used across the field of Occupational Therapy. It was developed in Canada and is internationally recognized for its ability to identify and measure changes in the perception of occupational performance and client satisfaction. You can access its official website here.
Its application facilitates the effective implementation of a Person-Centered Care (PCC) model and in their families, as it allows the identification of the individual priorities and needs of each user. In addition, the COPM is easily adapted to various contexts and services, such as rehabilitation, primary and community care, mental health, addictions, care for older adults, pediatrics, and the educational field, among others.
The COPM is used by qualified health or social service professionals, especially occupational therapists and physiotherapists, and is a key opportunity to improve the quality of care and provide evidence-based, person-centered interventions.
