Corporate Social Responsability

Servei Universitari de Teràpia Ocupacional (University Community Care Clinic)

One of the strategic pillars of the Occupational Therapy degree program is the promotion of innovation, sustainability, and the continuous improvement of educational and organizational quality.

Within this framework, the Servei Universitari de Teràpia Ocupacional was established, conceived as a key pillar in the teaching-learning process of future occupational therapists. This unit aims to optimize the acquisition of learning outcomes by undergraduate students through intervention with individuals, groups, and communities in real-life contexts, using active learning methodologies.

The unit includes service-learning projects and community care training activities, which are developed primarily within the framework of subjects and courses focused on intervention. This methodological strategy enables students to take on an active role and learn in a real environment and situation, working on the needs of a specific group and proposing possible solutions based on the knowledge they are acquiring in the context of their subjects.

In this way, the Servei Universitari de Teràpia Ocupacional represents an innovative solution aimed at addressing current and future health and social challenges faced by the population. It also provides an active learning approach for students and allows the EUIT, as a higher education institution, to become actively involved in the local community, contributing to the health and wellbeing of the population, thus fulfilling its role in knowledge transfer.
