TEM – Terrassa Multiple Sclerosis

EUIT has launched a collaboration with the Terrassa Multiple Sclerosis Association (TEM) as part of the Contextual modifications and adaptations course within the Occupational Therapy degree. This initiative will allow third-year students to apply their acquired knowledge in a real-world setting, assessing the occupational needs of people living with multiple sclerosis and proposing practical solutions to support their independence in everyday activities.

Through individualised assessment, students will develop recommendations for adapting the home environment and introducing assistive products to facilitate active participation in daily living activities — whether personal, instrumental, leisure, work-related or social. This first phase will culminate in a group advisory session for association members, where personalised strategies and resources will be shared that can contribute meaningfully to improving their functional ability and, as a result, their quality of life.

This collaboration represents a valuable opportunity both for TEM members and for EUIT students, who have the chance to engage with real-world situations from a professional and community-oriented perspective.

Looking ahead, the project is expected to expand to offer cognitive stimulation tools and resources for this group, thereby enriching the range of services available to people with multiple sclerosis and reinforcing EUIT’s commitment to community health and knowledge transfer within the local environment.
